Acrylink G™ Technical Data

Acrylink G™  is a crosslinking acrylic latex elastomeric reflective roof coating for every type of commercial or industrial roof, flat or pitched, including metal, polyurethane foam, EPDM, single ply restoration, etc.  Acrylink G™ is designed for the waterproofing of new or existing substrates, tanks, stucco, concrete, or masonry walls.  Acrylink G™ attributes include acidReflectivity Chart - Adding a White coating to an exsisting roof rain and broad spectrum chemical resistance, unsurpassed repetitive elongation, high solids, and industry leadership in water resistance.  It is the only crosslinking acrylic elastomeric coating on the market.  IPC has been utilizing crosslinking technology since 1981 and Acrylink G™ is U.L., FM, and Energy Star approved.

Reflectivity ChartAcrylink G™ utilizes crosslinking technology and uniquely custom-engineered resin, which results in a combination of high tensile strength and elongation previously found only in some urethane coatings, while retaining the superior ultraviolet resistance and ease of application of acrylic coatings.  Its low surfactant polymerization process shortens curing time, minimizing application risks associated with weather.

In addition to high tensile strength and elongation, the cured
Acrylink G™ membrane has excellent resistance to ponding water and harsh chemical environments, including acids (including acid rain), bases, industrial pollutants, and hydrocarbons, such as petrochemicals and animal fats.

Technologically advanced crosslinking acrylic resin and superior coating formulation combined with competitive pricing set
Acrylink G™ apart from all other roof coatings.  With warranted applications over nearly every type of commercial and industrial exterior, Acrylink G™ is as versatile as it is durable.

The Crosslinking Difference

Acrylink G™ is the only crosslinking acrylic elastomeric roof coating on the market today; but, what is crosslinking

Crosslinking is a chemical reaction that joins polymer chains together into one very large molecule.

An acrylic coating is a latex, or water-based suspension of polymer chains.  When it is applied, the water evaporates out of it, allowing the polymer chains to uncoil or "coalesce" into a solid, seamless, waterproof membrane. Other acrylic coatings stop curing right there.  The Acrylink G™ membrane continues to cure after coalescence by crosslinking.

"Crosslinking" is the proper technical term for the additional chemical reaction that occurs in the Acrylink G™  membrane.  After the coating has dried, a catalyst causes a strong chemical bond to form at many points along each polymer chain, tying them together into one, single, gigantic molecule.

This not only makes the Acrylink G™ roof membrane stronger and more elastic than other roof coatings, it dramatically increases its resistance to sunlight, water, and harsh chemicals.

Acrylink G™ has technologically advanced crosslinking acrylic resin is custom-reacted just for IPC.

It's crosslinking that puts the Acrylink G™ roofing membrane truly in a class by itself.
